Ma la seems all the rage now and of course the cafes are going to pick up on it. I really liked @theworkbenchbistro’s take on it (though my friend found it a bit oily, but hey, it’s ma la man!). You can even choose how much heat you want and I found the 中辣 hot the sweet spot for me. You will find the actually peppercorns and spices scattered throughout, so if biting into one of these if a no-no for you, do take note. Nothing ma la about the crisp chicken cutlet on top, but we welcomed the tender meaty addition.

A pretty awesome neighborhood cafe for good, hearty food, but the coffee is quite average.
