Butter Bean is a contemporary Nanyang coffee concept experience by the BreadTalk Group, targeted at the younger generation’s lifestyle by offering coffee-based beverages, toasts, sandwiches and other familiar local dishes with a twist, all with no pork or lard used. Evolving with the new digital age, Butter Bean offers an online ‘Order & Pay’ system for contactless orders and will be rolling out delivery options via GrabFood and Foodpanda soon.

The Arabica and Robusta coffee beans used at Butter Bean undergo the Torrefacto roasting method, by coating the beans with a layer of caramelised sugar to give it a nice sweetness. The beans are then grounded in small batches, brewed with hot water and goes through the sock method to create our local kopi-o gao kosong. This base is then used for the coffee beverages such as BBrûlée Kopi Latte ($3.20) and G.M. Kopi BBliss ($3.50), both with tea alternatives available. Besides the range of beverages, diners can look forward to a menu of food products such as the open faced toasts with a variety of spreads and toppings like PB&J ($2.80), Say Cheese! ($2.80), pocket sandwiches filled with omelette, slicked cheese, lettuce with a choice of battered fried fish ($4.60) or crispy fried chicken ($4.60). For a more substantial meal, the remaining hot foods include the Curry on Sunshine ($6.80), a piece of juicy fried chicken on top of a bed of steamed rice with scrambled eggs and a side of curry with potatoes, and the Hey You Hae Mee ($6.80), the twist of our classic prawn noodles served with braised chicken.
