The latest (and newest) seasonal flavour to be introduced, the truffle king ramen is perfect for fans of truffle, with its lingering aroma that perfumes up the bowl of piping hot tonkotsu soup based ramen! ✨Comprising of 2 thick slices of tender (albeit a little tough to chew) pork shoulder chashu, capsicum slices, the ramen is topped with a scoop of mashed potato along with truffle purée and slices. You can either choose to mix in the truffle into the tonkotsu soup for an enhanced flavour and scent, or consume the two elements in silo. I decided to go with latter as the combination of truffles and smooth, creamy mash potato appeared to be more well-received by my palate. Love how the truffle flavour was distinct albeit not too overwhelming, providing a whiff of fragrance to the creamy, flavourful tonkotsu soup. The thin hakkata ramen noodles was also done to an ideal fine texture, with a slight al dente mouthfeel to the palate. Or course, an add- on of seasoned egg is always an egg-ssential to my ramen meals, and the one here was pretty impressive, with a well-seasoned album coating and a vibrant core of soft, gooey molten yolk! 🤩 .
