Pamper yourself with two drinks of your choice (tea or coffee), chef’s signature butter and mixed fruit scones served with Devonshire clotted cream, house-made strawberry preserve and traditional lemon curd as well as an assortment of savoury finger sandwiches and seasonal quiches. However, if given the choice I would skip right to the specialty plated desserts.

Having the sweets prepared à la minute, the delectable Golden Apple was ultimately the highlight for me. Delightfully crafted as a glossy green apple, breaking into the thin sugar shell will reveal a balanced combination of refreshing Iced Yuzu Apple Compote, airy Yoghurt Espuma, pillowy Olive Oil Sponge, light Vanilla Fromage Blanc Sorbet and Hazelnut Molasses Crumble. Loving the bright sugar bauble, it provided something crisp and crunchy to the softer elements as it played up the textural experience of the whole piece. And of the other three interactive desserts offered, my dad (yes, I dragged my dad to high tea with me) had the foolproof Chocolate Forest - depicting a woodland scene with Caramel Cream, Banana Chocolate Gelato, Pecan Brownie, Chocolate Choux Puff, Banana Coulis and Chocolate Crumble.
