If you are at the original outlet at Old Airport Road Food Centre, you will be expected to queue for an hour at least but fortunately, we only queued for 30 minutes this time round at the Tampines stall. Managed by two sisters from the original outlet, Old Airport Road Zheng Zong Lor Mee is the exact reflection with each bowl going at $4 onwards (pictured is the $5 portion). In addition to lor mee, this stall also has prawn mee, served with either the dry or soup version.

The golden question on everyone’s minds is whether the taste and ingredients are similar to the original outlet and I am pleased to say that it’s the same. What you are going to get is a choice of your noodle drenched in the thick gravy with toppings of a braised egg, braised pork belly, fish cake and shredded fried fish. The other condiments include minced garlic and parsley while customers can add the black vinegar and sambal chilli according to each preference. Give everything a good mix and slurp down this bowl of goodness.
