I can never resist fried food - so is the pork loin katsu from Saboten. 🀩 Featuring crisp breaded batter fried to the perfect golden brown, served with crunchy shredded cabbage & fragrant sesame dressing, I actually wished for the pork loin to be more tender. Chawanmushi is a very typical side dish served at Japanese restaurants but the one at Tengawa Hokkaido White Curry is really one of a kind! πŸ’―I was immediately hit by the intense aroma of truffles when I opened the lid of that bowl of Tengawa Signature Truffle Oil Chawanmushi ($5++)! 🀀🀀🀀

Needless to say, I utterly enjoyed the silky smooth consistency of that steamed egg custard infused with fragrant truffle oil which was not overwhelming. πŸ’• The soft crabmeat at the bottom complimented the steamed egg while I’d very much wished that they use fresh prawn instead of frozen ones. However, at this price point, this chawanmushi far than exceeded my expectations! πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
