Now that I have tasted it, beef elsewhere will never be the same again. If there's ever a place for a beef pilgrimage, this is it and I highly recommend you make a visit La Shomon for a life-changing experience.

The Akamai 3 shu moriawase (2300 JPY) is an assorted lean cuts of 3 different kinds of Kobe beef. You will get the Rampu (lean and rich in meat flavour), Kurimi (tender part of the shoulder) and Ichibo (aitchbone part that has magnificent marbling but light taste).

Place each cut over the charcoal grill and witness the magic happens. My recommendation will be to go for medium rare doneness and dip it slightly with salt for the ultimate indulgence. The meats were so tender that you do not need strong gums to chew. Flavours were buttery and absolutely mind-blowing. I repeat, beef will never be the same again.
