The relentless showers has put a downer on my plans of late but as always rainy days call for warming comfort food. And one that is perfect for any weather is Enjoy Eating House and Bar’s Grandma’s “Te Kar” Bee Hoon ($12.80). Made from Chef Joel’s grandmother’s secret recipe, the plate of pig’s trotters bee hoon ticked all the right boxes. Meltingly tender, the pork leg was certainly well-executed with none of the unpleasant porky smell and was replaced by a tantalizing savouriness of the braising liquid. Soaking up all the wok-hei goodness, the thin rice vermicelli was not lumpy and still retained a nice bite. To bring the whole dish to the next level, the sweet-tangy sauce presented alongside was an immensely gratifying accompaniment.

Thank you @enjoyeatinghouse for having us and @burpple for the kind invite!
