Add chilli. I’ve had this Fried Carrot Cake ($3.50) since young and it’s always been consistently delicious. They only do the white version here; every piece of soft, pillowy radish cake has a distinct charred flavour, and it’s loaded with golden brown bits of egg. Everything absorbs the flavourful seasoning—the delicate sweetness and savoury saltiness from the sauce, and the nice heat from the added chilli—to form absolutely moreish morsels.
