Are there any fans of this relatively unknown char kway teow here? How do you find this? There are many famous char kway teow in Singapore - Outram, Hill Street, Dong Ji, Zion.. I didn't know of any good ones in the North until I was introduced to this, which is pretty good. We ordered this twice - first plate was fried by the son while the second was fried by the dad. They're very different, and we're split on which we prefer.

The son's plate was good for its wok hei. It was dry but still nicely seasoned with the right amount of savoury sweetness, with some eggy fragrance. The dad's plate was of a totally different style, which is wet without being overly oily. What I love most in both plates was the lard which was really crispy.
🔸
As objective as I try to be, it's very difficult for me to recommend char kway teow to people, because some like it wet, some like wok hei, some like it eggy, some are particular on the freshness of the cockles, some have their preference on the balance between savoury and sweet and oil and the lup cheong. If you stay near AMK, can give it a try, review it, tag me and let me know what you think about this!
