It was love at first sight when Nasi Kuning ($9.90) was presented to us. ❀ What stood out the most has got to be the pyramid of Indonesian fragrance turmeric rice donning a coat of alluring bright yellow. 🀀🀀🀀 So soft & fluffy with a hint of the iconic spice - I’m sure you’ll have more than a mouth! πŸ’―

Served with traditional galangal fried chicken πŸ—, fried vermicelli, sliced omelette 🍳, begedil (fried potato cake πŸ₯”), sweet & spicy fried tempeh, garlic crackers & home-made sambal 🌢, this was such a filling & satisfying meal! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I’ve always got a bias towards begendil - crispy on the outside while remaining soft & moist inside πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹, well-seasoned to make this a savoury treat. The sambal was just mildly spicy & leaned towards the sweet side so it’s good news for those who can’t handle the heat well. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It is a meaty affair with Nasi Campur Bali ($9.90), which features Balinese-style beef rendang πŸ„, sambal shredded chicken πŸ“, sliced beef tossed with sambal, sweet & spicy fried tempeh, Balinese stir-fry long beans & beef skewer with basted homemade sambal 🌢. While the beef skewer may be a bit tough, the rest of the meats were pretty tender. Perfect for those who adore strong flavours. ✌🏻

Never mind if you get MESSI with this NASI, I won’t judge you! πŸ˜‰ Time to head down to try!
