The limited menu is unmistakably French but it serves up rustic, unpretentious fare.

Their roast chicken ($23 for half, $45 for whole) is their most popular choice and it’s easy to understand why. Crispy skin layered with juicy meat are a knockout combo and Chef Yeoh does it to near perfection.

Marinated with herbed butter, it was one of the better roast chicken I’ve eaten recently. I would’ve preferred some parts to be less offputtingly bloody though. It comes with wonderfully done sides, a fresh purple kohlrabi coleslaw which adds a nice texture and roasted baby potatoes that almost steal the thunder away from the Poulet.
