@honestbeesg ‘s new 60,000 sq ft ‘NewGen Retail’ space features not only cashless automatic checkout and robotic collection points for your groceries, it also plays host to over 15 F&B concepts, including popular roast meat specialty chain, Char.

Their Char Siew Rice has fatty slices of Brazilian pork belly lacquered in a sticky, viscous glaze, fanned out over a bed of jasmine rice. Completing the meal are some blanched greens and a shoyu soft yolk egg, which has become de rigeur of late in rice bowls. This is a familiar favourite since Char’s Jalan Besar incarnation that I’m always happy to return to.
