Escaping the cold rainy afternoon with a cuppa Bolivia Single Origin Chocolate ($6) the other day at The Glasshouse; The not-so-secret hideout is still one of my favourite place to grab a hot cocoa when I am in the area. And feeling peckish, I got myself a Carrot Cake as recommended by the staff.

But not a fan of cream cheese, I usually avoid carrot cakes so my first forkful sealed the deal for me. Topped with light clouds of cream cheese instead of the familiar thick creamy frosting, the cake wasn’t tooheavy nor sweet. Moist and soft, it was also studded with nuts and chock-full of ingredients. Mmmmm, and the best part is the hints of spiced flavour and myriad of textures within.
