At the heart of Tarbush is founder Mohiyiddin Al Halabi's labour of love to make Middle Eastern fare an easily accessible and lovable cuisine to Malaysians. Well-known for their use of fresh ingredients, this fine restaurant will make a great place to order from for a vibrant dinner at home. Start with the staple Tarbush Hommus (RM15). The dip made from chickpeas and tahina (sesame paste) is best mopped up with soft Arabic bread — a set of four slices comes free with all orders. Also a popular dish is the Shish Kebab (RM28) — four grilled lamb skewers redolent with herbs and spices. The tasty meat dish can be a main course, but if you're really famished, have it on a bed of Biryani rice (RM10) to satiate. To cap off the meal, order traditional Middle Eastern dessert Baklava (RM12 for four pieces). The flaky, nut-filled filo pastry delivers a sweet, luxurious finish.
