My third time here for this but this time trying out the chiffon cake. A matcha cream filled chiffon cake that's topped with Azuki beans, the vanilla sponge was soft, fluffy and cotton-like, with a smooth, creamy matcha filling that could have been more distinct in flavour. Or perhaps it's overshadowed by its strong competitor - the softserve. Having tried the flavours in silo prior to this, I personally preferred the twist with the combination of an earthy umami flavour of uji matcha coupled and a lingering aromatic roasted flavour combined into one, a true matchmake in heaven πŸ’–. The uji matcha softserve came drizzled with a thick, deep dark green matcha sauce (which was absent during my first try) that enhanced and boosted the earthy factor. (PS: last chance to get this is on 4 October! Hurry and head down now to the ongoing Takashimaya fair before this annual affair ends!) Btw, there was already a queue forming on a Sunday noon πŸ™ˆ.
