Never too early for desserts, Park Bench Deli’s Fried Apple Pie ($10) was surprisingly good. No in-your-face cinnamon flavour, the chunks of granny smith's were wonderfully spiced and lightly spiked with Maker's Mark bourbon. Warm, comforting, and toothsome! Texture-wise, the house-made pastry was also a nice in-between of crispy-flaky and crumbly. And the vanilla-speckled cream at the side was gloriously airy and a lovely creamy contrast to the crusty pie exterior.
