Dolcetto is designed to bring the magic of Italy across the 2,400 square feet space that houses an artisanal bakery, all-day dining bistro, specialty foods purveyor, gelateria, confectionary and chocolatier, with over 200 Italian food and drink specialities on display. This multi-concept destination creates an Italian culinary wonderland to allow diners a leisure enjoyment of sweet idleness that accompanies them from morning to evening and work to weekend.
Over at the Mercatino, you will first be greeted with the meats and cheeses display while you browse through the menuboard for a variety of antipasti, handcrafted pizzetta, hearty pastas and sharing plates that you can order to complement the list of Italian wines ($16), cocktails ($18), and beers ($10). If you are there during lunchtime, get a Pear Pecorino Salad ($24) which was so good that we finished it completely. As you wind down the evening, order a pizza like the Prosciutto ($28) and a cold cuts ($35) or cheese platter ($38) while sipping on some tipples. There are also dinnertime items like Scallops Gratin ($22) and Panini di Latte with Beef Sfilacci ($28) that are great for sharing.
After your meal, waltz through to the confectionary for freshly made gelato, artisanal pralines, candies, and chocolates to end the day on a sweet note. My focus was fixated on the sorbet and gelato selection ($6 single, $10 double) and my choices were the Bronte Pistachio and Amarena Cherry (contains alcohol). The former was the perfect blend of aroma and nuttiness while the latter contains the burst of juicy sweetness from the syruped cherries. There are other must-try flavours such as the refreshing Amalfi Lemon and Basil and interesting Cantaloupe Melon with Crispy Parma Prosciutto. Bring a touch of Italy home as well with the range of ready-to-cook specialty foods such as pasta, pasta sauces, balsamic vinegars, olive oils or even ready-to-drink cocktails from the award-winning Manhattan Bar.
