It was about 20 years back since we last had the Penang hawker's fare . So revisiting this place with my family brings back so many good memories and we spent much time reminiscing our growing up years. This buffet started off literally like a Marathon kick off . There were Long queues forming at almost every station at the start of the buffet and each person was limited to 2 portions per time. Give that the portions were small, one had to queue up over and over again ( for yourself and your family ). Other than the prawn Mee soup and the Assam laksa which were good, the rest were not worthy to be mentioned. The Penang char Kway Teow was too charred and dry and lacked flavour. I would go for the Penang char Kway Teow at Jason's Penang food at abc brickworks market (abc market) anytime or for convenience, the Penang char Kway Teow at the food court of C.K Tang's basement. At SGD 33, the buffet didn't quite deliver value. The long queues and the average food and the meagre portions didn't not justify the price of the buffet. The hotel staff were however efficient in clearing the tables and were friendly. The best part of the dinner was recounting the old days and about how Long the Penang Hawkers' fare has been ongoing. It was a nice sight to see many families reuniting and recounting good memories.
