Hokkien Mee (L $8)
⭐️ 4.5/5 ⭐️
🍴Run by ex les amis sous chef Xavier Neo and his wife, this #hokkienmee was well-executed. The large portion was really big, good for sharing, and came with generous serving of 4 prawns (pre-peeled!), squid, and tender pork belly. His version is similar to the Michelin bib Tiong Bahru one with its fragrant prawn and pork aroma, and sits nicely between classic wet and classic dry hokkien mee without being too oily. Although it could do with slightly more wok hei, we highly enjoyed this version that paired really well with, and was enhanced by, their homemade sweet-spicy sambal comprising lots of belachan (shrimp paste).
Happy belated birthday to Singapore 🇸🇬. Thank you for having the best #hawkerfood 😋
