Having had really tasty hot dogs from roadside carts in the streets of downtown Toronto, I was wondering how much better could the “gourmet hot dogs” at @fancyfranks’ be. Boy, was I in for a surprise.
Firstly, their hot dogs are 100% all beef hand twisted in lamb casing. Firm, crunchy, well-seasoned and super juicy, they are solid performers but when they get partied up into FRANKO Y HUERVOS, “amazeballs” would be more apt a description.
Instead of the usual whole, the hot dog in this version is chopped up and cooked with eggs, ground chorizo, grilled onions and jalapeños. The steaming hot, meat-filled, soft scramble is then stuffed into a yellow egg bun and sprinkled with cayenne. I’m not exaggerating when I say this spicy hotdog was a heavy hitter in flavour and deliriously delicious!
