I had lunch with a friend here and was so impressed by their wagyu steak. I’m still thinking about how juicy and full of flavour it was from my first bite. I’m usually a tough critic on my steaks and hate when it tastes rubbery, but the steak I had here met my expectations and more — when seasoned with a little sea salt on the side, was SO savoury, smoked to perfection. I love a tender steak! Also, I liked that FBS was a 3min walk from botanics mrt, so it was very accessible. We had a series of dishes and on the whole was really satisfied with everything, the staff are nice and hospitable plus the food was served at just the right pace. For starters, we had the sourdough and it looks unassuming, but it was torched in front of our eyes, so the result of that was a crisp, perfectly buttered, just-enough portion to whet your appetite. This was served with the burrata, in little bite-sized pieces and was served with pesto, which was delicious. Cheesecake was homemade and of a firmer texture, balanced with yuzu (which I found quite zesty), and topped with tangy berries so that made for a rich, fuller flavour (but you’ll definitely want to share this dessert as it feels a bit much if just for 1 person). The star for me in all this was still the wagyu steak of course (I think this was the Denver for $68), which was so tender, as well as steak with fries ($32). The latter was still good but is firmer. Overall really enjoyed this cosy little steakhouse, nice for dates, both romantic or with good friends!

Tomatoes topped with cheese and olive oil caviar. The started was unique refreshing and had robust taste. For me the sauce was the start in terms of flavour while the tomatoes topped with cheese makes it a refreshing and creamy dish

Went to fat belly today and i must say i had a very experience there. The ambience is fantastic and the food there is amazing. Had the wagyu beef and it’s the best I have ever eaten.

Great experience at FBG. Quality of their steaks are exceptional and very worth the price. Best sour dough bread I've had. Overall a great place to bring a date on a special occasion!

First visit to FBG at Serene Centre (Near Botanic Gardens) and it definitely did not disappoint!

Start off with a sourdough bread and burrata. The sourdough bread is a must try as it was super crispy and tasty. The burrata was really good as well!

For the mains, we ordered a Blood Wagyu - Denver, a Wagyu steak rice bowl and the broccolini. The Wagyu steaks were amazing. They were very tender and juicy. It had a beautiful char on the meat as well which gave that distinct grilled meat flavour. Paired with the salsa verde, it was a stunner. I was pleasantly surprised by the Brussels Sprouts in the rice bowl as well. It’s a dish I’ve not tried before so I was a little cautious at first. But the flavours were amazing and won me over.

We ended the meal with a delicious cheesecake. Overall, an amazing experience FBG and would definitely come back again.

The food was good and enjoyable.
Beef were soft and juicy. The sourdough bread was a plus point, it was different from everywhere else, definitely recommend to get one to try. Truffle fries was crispy even after it turns cold. Cheesecake was alright, the passion fruit sauce can be a little overpowering. However, on the other hand, the tiramisu was soft and the taste was well balanced.

FBG is the place to chill and eat if you love beef. Their charcoal grill steaks are one of the best in town, grilled to perfection – succulent and flavourful even without any marinating sauces. Kudos to the experienced and friendly chefs. I recommend the Chef Cut – Denver. Remember to ask for additional portion of roasted garlic which goes very well with the meat. The toasted sourdough and burrata caprese are great starters while you are waiting for your main. For those who still have stomach for dessert – the New York Cheesecake is a must try thingy!

Enjoyed totally the evo-oil-caviar and kumato with toasted sourdough. Then came angus beef, perfectly charcoal-grilled to medium rare, seasoned with only salt but tasted heavenly. I love the grilled broccolini . The lunch was nicely wrapped up with new york cheesecake served with sweet-sour wild strawberry compote.

Fat Belly delivered a lunch experience that left me thoroughly impressed. From the delectable appetizers and sourdough to the Denver steak that was done over Japanese charcoal and Crème Brûlée French Toast and cheesecake, every dish was a delightful revelation. The flavors were impeccable, making the meal an absolute treat.

The ambience and service were equally exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience. I would return to Fat Belly without hesitation, and I highly recommend it to anyone in search of a remarkable dining experience or steakhouse around the Bukit Timah area!

Wagyu Denver steak - great flavor and texture, and cooked really well over charcoal! Near botanic gardens MRT and really convenient too

Had a great wagyu steak rice bowl at this steakhouse located not too far away from the MRT! Would recommend!

lovely denver steak

The denver wagyu was bursting with flavour and paired very nicely with the roasted garlic and salt. The cheesecake is also a must try as the creamy cheesecake paired very well with the tangy passionfruit sauce abd fresh fruits.

The Denver steak was succulent and incredibly tasty. The Wagyu beef rice bowl pleasantly surprised me. Each ingredient, from the beef to the rice and even the Brussels sprouts, was good on its own, while the flavours blended together in harmony. We were pleased with the quality of the coffee and sourdough as well.

If you’re looking for a steakhouse near Botanic Gardens (Bukit Timah exit), I highly recommend Fat Belly. The steak was flavourful and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Also love that the wagyu had just the right amount of marbling. The other dish that really stood out to me was the Toasted Sourdough starter — bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Complemented the pesto in the Burrata Caprese perfectly!
