Had a really nice dinner at Fat Belly! Service staff was friendly and attentive. I found the chairs really nice and comfortable, and I enjoyed that sitting at the bar meant being able to see the chefs prepare the food from the front row. I had the 250g Deckle steak, and it was very nicely cooked and very flavorful.

I also shared the creamed kale, which was very nice, and the truffle fries, which was kinda just ok (they used truffle oil instead of having truffle bits or truffle salt, which is fine, but I would've liked it with truffle salt). They also were out of the broccolini, which was too bad. The portions were both were very generous, though, and I found them really satisfying! For dessert, I had the Basque burnt cheesecake, and that was really delicious! Next time, I might have to order it again, even though I'm usually more of a tiramisu guy.

I had a really nice experience at Fat Belly earlier this week. I had the 200g Wagyu Denver steak. It was a nice cut, plated simply but beautifully. It was very tasty and flavourful. To go with it, I had a side of truffle fries and creamed kale. Both servings were surprisingly very generous and complemented the steak very well. I ended the evening with the basque cheesecake which was absolutely delicious - I would definitely order this again when I return!

The ambience is cozy, with an open kitchen concept. We were seated at the bar counter and had a great view of our food being cooked before us. Service was warm, attentive and efficient. Overall, a great spot for couples of friends.

I had the 400 day grain fed F1 Wagyu Marble Score 4/5 Deckle (200g) and I’m glad to say that the beef was nothing short of excellent. The beef was incredibly juicy and flavorful yet tender that required little to no chewing. Hands down one of the best cuts of beef I’ve had in my life. Pairing it with a glass of red wine is highly recommended.

I also ordered the sautéed mushrooms which definitely did not fail to impress with its assortment of plump mushrooms. The creamy kale was probably one of the best side dishes you can get, it was rich yet wasn’t overwhelmingly so. I got the tiramisu for dessert which was a great way to end the meal. Overall a great experience!

Lovely date night spot away from the city. Ambience is nice and cosy, just right to unwind for the night. We had 2 mains, 2 sides and a dessert to share. The Denver and Deckle steaks are a great combination to have. The Deckle boasts of a higher fat content while the Denver complements it as it’s a leaner cut. Both steaks were very tender and absolutely delish! The truffle fries and creamed kale were excellent side kicks as well. Lastly, the Burnt Cheesecake was great to end the meal with. All in all, we left with our (fat) bellies very satisfied! (:

Frankly, changed my perception of alternative cuts. We had the 400 days grain fed deckle and denver cuts in medium doneness (complete with truffle fries and creamed kale as sides) and they are totally recommended if you are a steak lover (if you are not, you probably cannot deny the succulence). Doneness was spot on.
Quality of fries and kale were fresh and goes along well with the steak imo although it could get a little “heavy” a meal. Price wise, not justifiable to compare to the regular steaks but the portion was pretty generous and definitely worth the price.
Finally to end the meal with Basque burnt cheesecake is definitely worth the extra calories gaining for.

Steak was amazing ;incredibly flavourful with great texture. It's a refreshing break to the monotonous rib-eye.

FYI, had deckle and denver cuts.

Ambience was also classy but not too formal.

Would recommend.
