From the Burpple community

Had the alternative experience 7-course dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. It was really worth it with the burpple beyond offer.

Dishes included:
1 & 2) savoury tart with truffle mascarpone and aged air-dried beef / beef consommé / financier with duck fat and foie gras mousse
3) short ribs and potato pave
4) beef char siew and kale
5) beef “bak kwa” sandwich with emmental cheese
6) wagyu tri-tip
7) pistachio tart with sour cherry and meringue

Overall, fat belly takes pride in introducing the less popular cuts of beef, which also means you shouldn’t expect the melt in your mouth fine quality of meat( tri-tip was a tad chewy but also due to the muscles in the cut).
However, they do take it to their innovation and using these cuts to create alternative dishes like bak kwa and charsiew. (The bak kwa sandwich was simple but really a delectable indulgence.) The details in each dish were very nice thought out, with sides also being equally outstanding as the main ingredient. Dessert left us pretty impressed with the smoothness of the pistachio tart and the really light and not too sweet meringues.

One of the best Burpple Beyond deals - 7-course set meal ($40++ each after 1 for 1). The appetiser dish is really petite (3 courses on one plate) but after that it gets really good. The char siew was a nice and sweet, followed by the waguy bak kwa sandwich with cheese which is surprisingly goood, and the main wagyu course is slim, tender, nicely done at medium, ending with pistachio ice cream dessert!

1) 400 Day Grain Fed Crossbred Wagyu Deckle, MS 8/9 ($65, 300g)
Got ourselves front row seats to the flame grill action at their open concept kitchen. Impeccable char, insides done to a consistent medium rare perfection. The deckle is the cap around the ribeye, and is just jam-packed with flavour.

2) Auskobe Wagyu Onglet, MS 4/5 ($40, 200g)
Another more obscure cut of steak, the onglet is crazy tender, with most of the flavour and all of the char and perfection of its more expensive sibling

3) Sides: Creamed Kale ($8), Truffle Fries ($7)
Great companions, but was honestly too stuffed and satisfied by the steaks to enjoy them fully. Creamed kale was consistently creamy and appealed to this kale-hater, and the shoestring truffle fries were crisp to the end.

4) Basque Burnt Cheesecake ($12)
I'm no cheesecake aficionado but this was perhaps the fluffiest cheesecake I've had. Paired with some strawberry compote and passionfruit reduction and it goes to the next level.

This dessert was so appealing, it made me so excited when it was being prepared and served to us (also because it was dessert) 😍 I dived right in after snapping this photo 😌 Added with the right amount of alcohol in this moouth-watering dessert, my boyf and I savoured it within 10mins 🍮😋

Charcoal Grill Beef Cut with a generous portion; it was tender and juicy, super yummy especially when paired with the juicy round tomatos that burst in my mouth.

Generous portion of golden crispy fries topped with grated cheese to munch on through our conversation 🍟😋
