FAT COW first opened its doors in October 2011. The word “FAT” in FAT COW stands for luxury and indulgence, and is also a play on the word “Fatt” which in Mandarin dialect means prosperity. Spanning slightly over 3,500 sq ft, the restaurant’s design takes a contemporary approach to the Japanese “Wabi-Sabi” concept - the art of finding beauty in things modest, simple and humble.

Super awesome beef!

My husband is very demanding in his beef as he has studied in US before and eaten their fresh beef there. It has always been tough to bring him to a steak place in SG as many of our local places uses frozen beef but this he approves.

Its tender and soft, felt fresh. Of course I'm unsure of how their stock comes but this fits what he likes.

What's best is that when I did my booking, I told them that it was for my wedding anniversary. And they were nice enough to give us a complimentary dessert 🍰

The most worth it Entertainer 1-for-1 place. The premium donburi with foie gras was mindblowing good. The rice is cooked with beef fat and probably the one and only time where I like the rice better than the beef!

Very satisfying and flavourful glazed foie gras and wagyu. As a lunch set, this is pretty decent as it comes with salad, chawanmushi, miso soup and dessert.

Part of the lunch menu and you get a generous portion of sliced waygu topped with an onsen egg. The melt-in-your-mouth goodness is pretty hard to describe. Would love to try from their main menu soon!

This elegant, intimate space in Orchard sits just eight at its counter and is perfect if you're craving stellar beef and seafood Omakase (from $180) for dinner. If it's in season, a must-try is the Wagyu Tataki, which is seasoned with sea salt and stars a cured shoyu marinated egg yolk that adds a rich, creamy texture. This place also serves up a mean sea bream soup and super fresh appetisers (think uni with ikura and beancurd skin, Irish oysters and miso gindara).
