For Coffee by Champions
Coffee is made with quality and care at Yellow Brick Road, home to Malaysia’s Open Barista Champion. Order the velvety Flat White (RM11) for a smooth and balanced cuppa over brunch, but don’t miss out on trying the Filter Coffee (from RM15) either – we love that it’s served alongside a handwritten card with tasting notes.

For Complex Cold Brews
Aromatic filter coffees, check; fine espresso-based drinks, check; and the star of Cream’s repertoire, amazing cold brews, check. Both their black and white cold brews are steeped for 18 hours to gently extract flavours from the coffee grounds. The Cold Brew Black (RM12) is bold and fruity, while the creamy Cold Brew White (RM13) is strong and sweet.

For Consistently Good Coffee
The buzz at both VCR’s Pudu and Bangsar outlets is warranted not only for their fabulous brunch dishes, but also their dependable cups of coffee. Look forward to a depth of flavours in the Espresso (RM9) and Long Black (RM9). We’re also fans of the Cold Brew (RM15) that comes with a guaranteed java jolt.

For Cold Coffee on a Hot Day
We’ll come clean — we like it Dirty at Artelier Coffee. Yes, we’re talking about the cool, punch-packed drink. Priced at RM14, the no-ice concoction drink sees a perfect pairing of ristretto and cold milk. Expect a sharp kick on the first sip, followed by the taste of sweet, creamy milk.

For Stellar Taiwanese-style Drip Coffee
At Midsummer Night, the Simple Black (from RM8), Iced Drip (RM18) and Trouble White (drip coffee with milk, RM15) all rock excellent but light flavours fit for a nighttime joe. But what we love most about visiting this cafe is the bespoke experience. The friendly cafe owner treats every customer like a regular and takes his time to get to know your coffee preferences — that’s his secret to making you the perfect cup. P.s. Film fans will love the space decked out in movie posters!

For Coffee Straight From the Roastery
Tucked quietly in a busy office block is breezy cafe Three Little Birds Coffee, injecting zen vibes all-round. What’s in the hopper? Only quality coffee beans that come fresh from their roastery next door (Artisan Roastery). To best enjoy their curated beans, ask for Coffee Juice (from RM15) – it’s what they refer to as filter coffee on the menu.

Run by a couple wholesaling coffee equipment, this nondescript cafe in USJ churns out a spot-on cuppa every time. The coffee made with Highlander beans is reasonably priced, starting from RM6 for a Black. On hot afternoons, escape in here for the Chilled Latte (RM10), espresso-stained cold milk served in an icy, chilled glass.

For Fragrant Rose Latte
Nestled in a quiet part of Puchong, Depot by JWC offers a varied drinks menu that makes it easy for both coffee enthusiasts and rookies to enjoy a cuppa. While the La Kopi Cappuccino (RM8.90) is a small but strong, delicious cup of milk coffee, it’s the Moroccan Rose Latte (RM13.90) with a lingering floral sweetness that we can never pass up.
