The annual festival features the humble country’s best, from specially flown-in fruits to authentic Thai eats (it’s so much more than tom yum!) and traditional cultural performances. Sando aficionado Park Bench Deli is collaborating with soon-to-open restaurant and bar The Guild to make foodie dreams come true this 4 May. Expect exciting eats like Fried Shrimp Bread Taco, Ham Dan Fried Chicken and Umami Salami. The latter is a pork shoulder sausage with XO mustard and fermented cabbage. Alongside good grub, enjoy beats curated by Good Times and bubbly craft beer by Hong Kong’s top dog brewery Young Masters (set to be based in The Guild).

For an early Mother’s Day celebration, check out this cooking demo by Sylvia Tan (author of cookbook Mad About Food) using staples from the Asian larder. Not that mum ever needs a cooking class, but working together to whip up a dry laksa and Nyonya chicken satay might just make a fun mother-daughter day out!

Get buzzy at Asia’s largest cocktail event, which features world class mixology experiences spearheaded by stellar bartenders, both local and from abroad. Pop by the festival village on Empress Lawn to rub shoulders with all the who’s who in the international mixology scene, including Bob Louison from Seoul’s Pussyfoot Salon and Elliott Ball from London’s The Cocktail Trading Co. There are also a host of fringe events happening from 4-13 May, including some pretty fun bar tours in the planning.

This weekend is when Mexicans all over the world celebrate Cinco de Mayo, a commemoration of the army’s victory in 1862, so join in on all the buzz at Mex Out. The newly refurbished Mexican joint is doling out $8 margaritas, $25 beer buckets and many, many Tacos (three for $12.90) to go with it — bring friends to share these!

This low-key supperclub combines a seven-course feast and lush, verdant surroundings on a rooftop for a weekend treat. The bespoke dinner menu includes tall orders, such as tea-smoked mackerel and woodfired kurobuta pork chops, and if the very positive testimonials from past diners are anything to go by, this meal will give you something to remember (and talk about).

Tiger Beer’s pop-up street food party is happening this 11 May, and hawkers of their Tiger Street Food Support Fund will be there to dish out their signature dishes as you knock back beers. Remember Grub Noodle Bar? Having shut their doors last year, the team is making a comeback to serve their comforting noodle bowls as part of a six-course meal at their one night-only pop-up. The main event has to be their noodles (choose between the Angus sirloin beef or kurobuta pork collar option) but we’re also finding ourselves thrilled about the seafood appetisers: Hokkaido Scallops Tataki lightly torched with mustard glaze and mandarin orange segments, Venus Clams steamed in beer, toasted ginger and lemongrass broth, and Steamed Tiger Prawns in sake, garlic and ginger glaze. Oh yum.

Taking over Marina Bay Carnival’s space at Bayfront, Artbox will bring over 400 food, beauty, fashion and art vendors from around the region to this Oasis installment. We hear local Cereal Citizen will be there to churn out their cereal desserts while The Juicy Way offers their bottled juices for a quick refresher. And to quell any mid-shopping spree hunger, look to Be Frank for their juicy hot dogs!
