Catch Them While You Can: Food & Drink Events in June 2018

Fill your foodie calendars with these food and drink events coming up in Singapore!

Negroni Week 2018
4-10 June
Various bars
Free admission

Limonegroni 2

Drinking for a greater good? We can roll with that. Negroni Week, the annual charity event kickstarted in 2013 by Imbibe Magazine, is back for its 2018 run. Participating bars present their interpretation of the iconic cocktail, and a portion of every Negroni purchase goes to a charity of their choice.

Try Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 champ Manhattan Bar’s Betty’s Negroni ($23) that’s spiked with Port Charlotte whiskey and a pinch of sea salt or Caffe Fernet’s Nonna on Fleek ($22) featuring herb smoke infusion, black olives and parmesan; $1 from every purchase will be donated to Run for Hope and The New Charis Mission respectively. New kid on the block Marcello’s Limonegroni ($18) blends Negroni with homemade limoncello, and they’re pledging $2 from every glass sold to Food from the Heart. We’d also show Band of Brothers for Good some love! Local bars Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall, Mona Lounge, The Wall and Amrith band together to take on guest bartenders on shift, with $5 from every sale being put towards youth welfare organisation Trybe. Cheers to that.

Easties, enjoy!

Wok & Barrel + Make MEE Great Again
9 June, 6-9pm
Ownself Make Chef
$99 per pax

Remember the scrumptious nasi lemak at now-defunct Revolution Coffee (read about their closure here), or the dearly missed bak chor mee pasta at Duxton Hill’s Wok & Barrel? Chef Shen Tan’s hand at mod-Sin cuisine has never failed to charm us. While you won’t be seeing her at a restaurant anytime soon, you can check out her Ownself Make Chef private kitchen to relive those flavours! This month, she takes her menu down memory lane to recreate decade-old classics, such as her twice-cooked nasi lemak, crispy chicken wings, plus her take on local mee siam and mee rebus.
