Forty Hands has opened another outlet in Katong — lucky Easties! The scrumptious Chili Scram ($18)’s showing up on our feed a lot, but there are a couple of items that are exclusive to the second outlet like 40 Hands Cheeseburger ($20, with bone marrow in the patty!) and Stinky Har Cheong Gai Waffle ($16) — you might remember this from now defunct HOUSE at Dempsey. Add this to your Wishlist and bookmark it for your next brunch date!

If you’ve missed Da Paolo’s gelato like Burppler Anna Chung, you’d be just as pleased to see it back on the menu when you visit their Raffles Holland V outlet (they’ve moved out of Chip Bee Gardens). While it’s not the cheapest at $8.90 for a double scoop, Burppler Casey Tan guarantees that it’s worth it — the gelato is prepared in-house daily using recipes from Milan’s Chocolat gelateria, so quality is assured. The dark chocolate is a top-scorer! Also available in the Raffles Place outlet and Da Paolo Bistro Bar.

Spice up your bubble tea routine with LiHO’s Brown Sugar Pearl series, which features slow-cooked brown sugar pearls. Burppler Vanessa Kou liked the distinct caramel flavour and fragrance that were infused into the warm, chewy tapioca pearls, coupled with the flush of cold fresh milk for that lovely hot and cold contrast. Their three latest additions are Matcha, Avocado and Chocolate. Try it and tell us which is your favourite on the app.

Tsukada Nojo

Tsukada Nojo has always been our community’s go-to for super rich collagen hotpot. For those who want a break from the chicken ($25/person), pork shabu shabu ($32/person) or beef sukiyaki ($38/person) options, the new Seafood Bijin Nabe ($45/person) might just float your boat. It comes with salmon, mussels, scallops, clams, crab and prawn balls, plus the usual side of greens and noodles. This is available exclusively at Liang Court; there’s an ongoing 10% off promotion too!

Next time you’re at Grassroots Book Room, stop by for a cuppa at the refreshed cafe hidden inside (previously Open Book Cafe). To complement their compact drinks menu of coffee and tea, there’s also a small assortment of cakes and scones available. The Houjicha Au Lait Chiffon ($8) seems to be the biggest community hit so far!
