Happy hour is an easy call at this American diner and bar. Located within Liat Towers, Overeasy is the place to be if you like burgers, shakes and the whole stateside experience! To escape the after-work rush on weekday evenings, hole up in one of their cosy booth seats over a tipple and an order of the hot fudge bourbon-filled Doughnut Holes ($12) — these babies should tide you over till dinnertime.

Named after the precise 49 seats available in their previous shophouse, this Asian fusion joint has since moved to a bigger location in Centrepoint. The value for money prices make this spot popular for a no-frills weekday lunch. Big with the Burpple community is their big-on-flavour Tom Yum Seafood Pasta ($14.90), which melds springy spaghetti in creamy, spicy tom yum sauce with prawns and mussels.

Bubbling hot budae jjigae AND icy cold bingsoo? Patbingsoo’s strength lies in its diverse selection of Korean street eats and its accessibility, both price and location wise. Orchard folks will want to flock on over to this Plaza Singapura outlet to enjoy a warm Korean army stew dinner (from $35.90 for three to four people) capped off with 1-for-1 drinks and a cool dessert. We recommend the Sinda Bingsoo ($14.90), which Burppler Babette Dear describes as “hunks of rock melon, cornflakes and red beans in icy, milky sweetness.”

Boufe Boutique Cafe
Detour a little further to Phoenix Park for Milky Way galaxy and unicorn cakes! It’s always a party here at this boutique cafe, and a pretty one at that. Their highly Instagrammable sweet treats aside, Boufe also garners praise for their big breakfast Triple B ($20) and Steaks are High ($20), the latter stacks Australian oyster blade beef with hashbrown and homemade onion rings.
