Brewed by the Big City Brewing Company in Kingston, Surrey, Jamaica.

It has a hazy brown colour, with aromas and tastes of cane sugar, ginger (blue and yellow varietals), peach, and lemon.

The body is fizzy, bright, and thin, with bold spice herbal sweet flavour, and a hint of boozy finish. Very refreshing.

Yummy aglio olio with big prawns 😋 but it can be a little oily and salty as you eat

Mussels was small but fresh. A yummy and good portion with an excellent stock for dip with their charcoal grilled bread.

There’s arguably no better place to get woodfired bread than Firebake. And by default their tartines are generally pretty fantastic. Costing $18 for a full portion, the toppings vary from time to time but its always served on a thick slice of seedy bread.

Recently, mine was a vegetarian option consisting of avocado, sautéed mushrooms, feta, pickled pistachio and cress. It was super flavourful with mushrooms giving it that meaty feel. There was plenty of plenty of texture from the avocado while the pickled nuts and feta gave it plenty of zing and bite. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back and seeing Chef’s next creation.

The aggressively oceanic-perfumed ebi pasta possessed the "nothing-but-a-T-shirt-on" feel good soul of a greasy char bee hoon stir-fry, whilst elsewhere the smoky prawns possessed a naive sweetness of flesh and delectably crunchy legs. 4/5
