That was the sound of the crispy golden brown batter on the exterior of the fish and chips shattering as I took a bite. Despite the 15 minute ride back home sweltering in the cardboard takeaway box, the batter still retained its light crunch.
The fish was accompanied by a smattering of thin fries, all of which were generously coated with a seasoning, and a small dish of refreshingly cold and tangy coleslaw. While there are some areas for improvement—the slightly chewy fish (reminiscent of frozen filets?), the tad too scrawny fries and the slightly soupy and watery coleslaw—it was a decent fish and chips at a decent price, at $7.90 for the Classic Fish and Chips.
