My palate wants what it wants especially when I am sick. May be just me but I craved for random things after inhaling so many pills over a span of a week. The above was one on the list and Dad took effort to drive me to his favourite place for it at Parkway.
The protocol here is to choose a slab of fish charged per gram and they’d slice it up for you. Dad thinks they serve one of the fresher sashimi around; while I don’t have these often, I had my fill and was satisfied after I finished almost 2/3 the plate

They have lunch sets that include a main dish and miso soup. I chose the unagi rice bowl. The amount of unagi was pretty decent, and I liked the soft fluffy eggs. It's a decent option if you're around the area!

Price: $15

Typically you can request to slice these as thick or thin as you prefer. As always, I will order salmon belly and red grouper sashimi, what about you? .

The fishes are freshly sliced into thin/ thick sashimi pieces upon order. We were introduced a new soy sauce from Kobe. The soy sauce is well balanced between sweetness and saltiness definitely a good compliment to the sashimi dish 😋. .

Along with cuts of Salmon and Swordfish Sashimi I handpicked at the counter (which was obviously amazingly fresh!!), I decided to give Fish Mart Sakuraya's Chirashi Don a try too! At $16 nett (No GST & service charge here!), it was definitely pretty decent for it's price. The Salmon, Tuna, Swordfish, Tako amongst others all came in a single slice which was a little thin, but at a modest price $16 there's nothing much I can ask for either. It was however topped with a very generous serving of Ebiko & I really appreciated that. Ordered a side of mentai roe at $3 & it went so well with my sushi rice! Fish Market Sakuraya is really an underrated Japanese joint which serves up pretty decent & fresh Japanese food at a relatively affordable price compared to other established Japanese food joints. The freshly cut sashimi here is really to rave for as reviewed in an earlier post! Come here for fresh sashimi cuts 🤤

Fish Mart Sakuraya has reopened after a brief hiatus! Hard to complain about the decent seafood at good value prices, great for a quick bite in between grocery errands.
