We had a very sinful dinner after gym last Sunday. Since that we arrived late.. about 8.45pm- ish, their Roasted Duck and Honey Glazed BBQ Pork Ribs was sold out. Hence, we ordered the pork chop with cheese (S$ 19.90), pan seared seabass (S$ 20.90), Apple Crumble with 2 scoops of icecream(S$ 7.50) and a bottle of red wine (S$ 43). Total bill inclusive service charge was S$ 100.43. Verdict: 👍 Yes definitely will come back again as the main course is really value for money except for the dessert. #burpplesg #burpple #donttellmypersonaltrainer

At this family-owned and run casual restaurant that's been around since 2005, you get hearty portions of both Hainanese and Western dishes with a home-cooked touch. One fine example is their Hainanese pork chop. Fried to a crispy-crunchy finish that is admirably grease-free, the breaded piece of meat comes smothered in an appetising tomato-based gravy. Served with rice and some braised mixed vegetables ("chap chye"), this is comfort food done well.

To be fair, for the price, you cannot expect their Wagyu to be on par with those at fine dining restaurants. Based on this set of adjusted perimeters, I still found it decent. It may have lacked the melt-in-the-mouth texture (actually, it's a tad chewy) but the bigger-than-average portion makes it very filling. Especially when it's served with your choice of sides.

I do like the relaxed vibe of Foo House, a family-owned and run casual gastropub that's been around since 2005. The service is friendly and their portions of Hainanese and Western dishes, really hearty.

Very tender oxtail meat and tasty stew. I'd have ordered rice if I was very hungry.

Supposedly known to be the best burger in the east! Costs us $21.90 after adding on an egg, caramelised onions and mushrooms ($1 for every add-on item)!
