Gave the hotpot place at North Spine another chance early this week and we were quite satisfied with what we got for less than 50 bucks. They are having a 2 pax set meal promo which includes 3 meat and 3 veg as well as free flow diluted fruit punch 😉 On a good note, we especially enjoyed the tomato soup base and the generous portions of fresh ingredients. Would revisit next time to try out other items on their new menu! #火鍋 #麻辣

Each set comes with a standard serving of vegetable, mushrooms, meatballs and beancurd skin by default. Your choice of soup- spicy, tomato or tom yum with your preferred spiciness intensity for the house spicy soup. Carbs are not included in the set but available as an add on for an extra cost which includes rice, instant noodles or vegetable noodles. There's also a condiments bar with free flow of sauces and spice for your hotpot e.g. Oyster sauce, chilli paste, garlic, spring onions, coriander etc. For the soup, I had chosen the spicy soup (medium intensity) along with a serving of vegetable noodles. The assortment of ingredients were served in a generous portion, which far outweigh the miserable portion of soup given. For the seafood set, I had omitted the squid and requested for more prawns- which I had gotten 5 pieces of jumbo tiger prawns. Though huge in size, the prawns unfortunately lacked freshness and juiciness, texture was a tad coarse with firm, rigid shells that aren't easily peeled off 😥. The soup tasted rather instant too as it's just an addition of spicy chilli paste into a clear broth 😒. The vegetable noodles had a texture resembling that of instant noodles, with a characteristic earthy, bitter undertone of vegetables. Though portion is generous with an assortment of ingredients, I would prefer quality > quantity, with perhaps the option of diners cooking the ingredients in a pot of hot soup, instead of being served a mini hotpot where the stove beneath was just for visual purpose- no flames to keep the soup warm 😥. (PS: Do avoid the lunch peak hours of 12-1.30pm unless you are willing to wait around 30 minutes for your food) .

Definitely must try if you like ma la xiang guo... Their flat noodles is springy and goes well with the other ingredients. Ask for less spicy if you can't take spicy food. This plate cost $4.60. Min $4. Located at Hall 9 canteen, opens from 11am.

With the sides of spaghetti with tomato sauce. For just 4.5$! #gooddeal

A month and a half in Singapore and I finally had my first taste of the famous Kaya Toast.
It's only served before 11 am and it's now my motivation to wake up before noon.

There were only 2 small pieces of chicken in it despite it being called chicken kimchi ramen. The soup base was average. Even if there isn't a queue, I don't think I will be back for it 😕
