I really love Midpoint Orchard’s mala because it’s very affordable! Depending on the ingredients selected, you can have a nice mala for yourself at

With a plethora of dishes in front of you to choose from, your head just can’t turn away.

I particularly love the cai fan stall at Midpoint Orchard because there is a wide variety of options and it’s kept very affordable - you can get a decent meal for below ~$5. I once had a meal there for $4 too.

I always go for one meat and 2 veggie dishes to ensure a good intake of protein and my greens ☺ True enough, nothing can compare to the home-cooked food with noticeably less sodium, but when you are on the go, cai fan makes for a good choice.

Today I had chicken cutlet, long beans and dong gua. I am biased towards my long beans and soft mushy dong guas, so no fuss about that. The chicken was a bit dry in my opinion, but this was truly a humongous slab of chicken that keeps the carnivore excited upon first sight.

Cai fan is Asian comfort food, just like how burgers are western comfort food. I love me a good cai fan.

Xiao la, zhong la, da la?

There are 3 levels of spice at the food court at Midpoint Orchard basement and I opted for the spiciest level. (I was tearing after eating it)

The ingredients were so-so, but my colleague loved the garlic mushrooms.

I think it’s one of the cheapest mala places around in Singapore - I haven’t seen any stall that offers mala for

This is $4.50 meatball and mince meat noodle with more vegetables than the usual noodle stall.

You can try the fish balls and slice fish too. We like the koka mee version here.

Rating 8/10. Good to try

A cheap way to get your tummy filled in town. I asked for extra noodles and the owners did not charge me extra money. Store is located at Midpoint Orchard coffeeshop called Ming Kee. Overall, a 3/5 rating.
