@fook.kin has added new items to its menu!

They now serve dim sum as well, available 10am-4pm daily! Featured here are the following items:
⭐️ Sesame Creamy Custard ball ($6.20++)
⭐️ Crystal Pumpkin Dumpling ($6.20++)
⭐️ Crispy Beancurd Skin Shrimp Roll ($4.80++)
⭐️ Shark Fin Dumplings ($5.50++)

Another two new items are the following:
⭐️Golden Truffle Duck ($28.80++): Super pretty GOLDEN-dusted duck! The truffle taste was also very fragrant! Duck meat was tender!

⭐️ 6-Flavour Prawns ($26++): The prawns were served in 6 different flavours, such as mala, curry, nonya, wasabi, salted egg! The prawns were fresh and crunchy! Have a different taste explosion in your mouth for every prawn!

Do not forget to order their classic dishes too!

⭐️Mixed Platter ($30++): Super love their charred caramelized sweet char siew. The fat to meat ratio was just nice for me! Roast pork was also juicy with crispy skin!
⭐️Minced Meat Mee Kia ($3++)
⭐️Minced Meat Mee Pok $$3++)

If you are adding chilli to your noodles, do note it is kinda spicy! Get some drinks to go along with your meal!

⭐️Guava Juice
⭐️Ice Lychee Tea with Sorbet ($6.80++)

Enjoyed our meal here thoroughly!

It’s been awhile since I visited Fook Kin, and I’m happy to report that their signature roast meats (char siew and sio bak) are still excellent! Glad to see that the standard has maintained! If it’s your first time here, I’d recommend getting the Mixed Platter - the caramelised char siew is sweet, nicely charred and has a good balance of meat to fat ratio, while the roast pork has a satisfyingly crispy crackling skin and juicy meat. These pair well with either the rice or noodles, but I personally prefer the latter.

half-fat option
char siew a little too sweet and chewy for my liking. roast pork has a good bite and well-proportioned layers.

This Chinese Cantonese style is rather an acquired taste, as the strong herbal earthy sweet salty savoury flavours of the roast duck may not appeal to all, although I personally loved it.
.
Marinated with angelica root and charcoal roasted, the roast duck has a lovely tender bouncy succulent chew to texture.

The quirky Thai inspired fried rice is beautifully plated.
.
A pyramid of fluffy fried rice tossed with bouncy deshelled shrimp, infused with vibrant red dragon fruit juice, is served over a bed of crisp lettuce, garnished with juicy chunks of red dragon fruit and wispy pork floss.
.
This has lovely fruity sweet savoury flavour, unique and addictive.

Love this excellent Chinese Cantonese roast meat platter.
.
The Char Siew / Marinated Roast Pork Loin has equal parts fat to lean meat, with a tender sticky succulent chew, and bold smoky honeyed sweet savoury flavour.
.
The Sio Bak / Roast Pork Belly has nice layers of fat between the lean meat, the skin crackling with a light crunch to release the tender bouncy pork beneath, carrying mild savoury salty flavour.
.
Paired with a light soy dipping sauce for added savoury salty notes.
