Went specifically for their Lu Rou Fan and I really enjoyed Formosa Delights’ Taiwanese Style Braised Pork Rice ($12.90). Quite the mouthful, their rendition of the all-in-one rice bowl dish was homely and comforting. The braising liquid was savoury and well-balanced; not too heavily spiced, well flavoured into the meat, and was of a lighter consistency. My favourite part was, of course, the melt-in-your-mouth pork belly which had a good fat-to-meat ratio. There were the usual braised hard-boiled egg and tangy pickles. The set also comes with a bowl of sauced-up broccoli which helped counter the heaviness of the protein but overall the hearty bowl was not cloying.

Portion was huge!! Noodles were chewy and remained chewy throughout. The braised pork slices were thin and fatty hence melted in the mouth when eaten together with the noodles. The sauce was so savory and flavourful with the meat and some spices flavor. Really enjoyed this but recommended to share!

The sliced pork was pretty ordinary and portion was small for the price. Taste was nothing spectacular, just stir fried with some vegetables and soy sauce. Pork was not fatty and was soft and tender though. Worth a try but would rather go for the chicken here!!

Portion for la zi ji was huge! It was so crispy and freshly fried and there was a good ratio of meat to skin. The flavour was fragrant and spicy and super delicious! Good for sharing among a few people as portion is huge.

I know of Formosa Delights from their handmade noodles through the stalls in the foodcourt. They have been fond of their quality handmade noodles and pastries since 1998.

Their Formosa Finest Handmade Noodle was shocking and not to my liking. Though the texture of the noodles was perfectly fine, the stinky seafood smell was too strong. The broth was sweet with the seafood, vegetables, mushroom and minced meatballs.

$13.90 and shareable for ~3-4 pax. Skin was real crispy and came with generous amount of meat too! Spice was so good and the numbing feeling was on point. Definitely a must get.
