Nestled deep within Sunway Pyramid's Asian Avenue, Formosa is the mall's hidden gem for affordable good eats. The joint, a favourite among savvy students and staff, dishes out a plethora of Taiwanese set meals at pocket-friendly prices. Seats are limited so it's best to come in groups of three to four, lest waiting parties stare you down for taking up a whole table alone. The Taiwanese Salted Chicken Rice Set (from RM9.30) is an addictive choice, and it comes with a full meal of braised sauce-topped rice, braised egg or tofu (or both) and a drink. The upside of dining here is that all set meals are customisable and priced accordingly — for example, it's cheaper if you opt for a meal without the drink.
