Good Morning, Coffee! 😍☕❤️❤️❤️

Settling into the hipster vibe at @40handscoffee. Weirdly enough, my fave item was the butter (Yes, just the butter!!!) on the side for hub's @tiongbahrubakery croissant. 🥐I literally couldn't stop eating it on its own! 😂 Yep, just the butter. 😋

Very very crowded and kinda cramped seating, but I guess it adds to the ambience of the place? Love walking around Tiong Bahru estate right after a fulfilling brunch!

The beef bolognese and sour cream went really well with the nicely toasted flatbread. Love the juicy grilled portobello too! Other than that, you get pretty much the same old - bacon, eggs, sausage & some greens.

I particularly enjoyed the pesto quinoa mixed with feta yoghurt. Pretty refreshing!
We added a side of grilled chicken for $4, but it has lots of room for improvement. It was too dry and not well seasoned - not a worthy addition.

Fluffy and soft tau sa pau. Worth it a try if you are at the cafe. A bit over-priced though..
Price:$2.50

You should then consider forty hands. They serve a good brunch food with a nice ambiance. I tried their egg benedicts and pesto panini (not pictured). The egg benedict is decent enough and very filling. However the spicy potato is too asian for the main dish so they don't go along well. Nonetheless, i still love the potato by itself. #igotfoodcoma #burpple

Forty Hands is located in a quaint hipster neighbourhood at Tiong Bahru. I always love walking around the Tiong Bahru neighbourhood because of the restored houses and the rustic vibes. There are a few tables for outside seating, some tables in front of the cashier counter, and more seats downstairs. I personally like sitting downstairs as it’s more private and chill.

Second visit to Forty Hands and this time I ordered the Croque Madame ($13 + $2 for fried egg) and it didn’t disappoint. The croissant is from Tiong Bahru Bakery, which is flaky crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect. The melty goodness of the cheese, paired with the savouriness of the ham, and a fried egg to tie everything together made this an amazing brunch to start the day with. My mom tried a bite of this and declared she wanted to order this the next time she comes!

Their coffee beans are from Common Man Coffee Roasters and I really enjoy the mocha here. It’s thick, chocolatey and comforting. Overall, this would be a good place for brunch, lunch or coffee with friends, or a nice place to just come a chill by yourself and get some work done. This is definitely a cafe I would revisit many times over and I’m glad to know that they’ve extended their opening times on Fridays and Saturdays so I finally have the chance to try their chilli crab fries one day!
