From the Burpple community

Soup was peppery and hot on initial taste, and mellowed into a more rounded flavour. The meat however, was rather dry/tough, and perhaps only the spare rib in the $9.80 option & 1 piece of the other type of meat was passable.

The service left much to be desired. We were v thirsty from our run, and asked for some warm water. It took a ridiculous amount of time for the water to come. We went over to check if we could just serve ourselves (the jug was just right there), and the waiter said that the water would be coming soon (but no it didn’t). And when it finally did come, they served it in a plastic cup with a plastic straw (??!!). Okay the plastic issue is something management has to look into, so can’t help that until they change their SOPs, but I can’t understand how water can take so long to be served.

Honestly this place is ~okay~ but I wouldn’t come back, my first (and probably last) visit left a bad impression.

- Nubbad!! Very worth cause 1-for-1 hehe
- I personally prefer peppery > herbal soups, so this one’s gr8 for me. Also not too peppery till it makes you choke and tear kind yknow?

Buy any soup (other than popularity) and get a popularity soup free ($7.80)
Soup is peppery enough for me but I found some of the meat quite tough.
Overall, worth a try

Although the shop is quite well known among celebrities (jay chou, hk actors etc), we find the BKT pretty normal for us.

Honestly not bad, but lacks the kick as it isn't peppery enough. Tried their new promotional item - charcoal youtiao ($2++). Didn't taste any different from the normal youtiao, except for the colour and the poster said that charcoal has detoxifying properties so i guess it is good for the body? Used the burpple 1 for 1 and got the prosperity bkt ($7.80++) for free. You can choose any mains of a higher value (not necessarily bkt). Ordered the premium ribs ($11.80++) which were tender. Managed to earn another 2 free drinks (homemade barley $2.50++) after i "recommended" the place on facebook. Spent a total of $28.95 for 2 pax.

Another thing to note is that the reserve button on burpple doesn't work. They don't use the website anymore so you have to call in to reserve if you dont arrive early enough.

Just the right amount of taste & pepper! Generous with meat. Perfecto!! Will be back :)
