Food here is consistently good and service quick. This Caesar salad was served in a hardened but edible galette bowl. Salad itself was delicious with kale replacing the usual lettuce and crispy bacon providing the crunch, but the bowl was a bit of a gimmick. Nonetheless would definitely repeat the order.
As we were afraid that a single galette wouldn't be enough to fill our tummies, we decided to order a serving of homemade fries, which can be found in the appetiser section of the weekend brunch menu. The fries are thick-cut and they are not particularly salty; in fact, the potato taste is really pronounced in the fries served at French Fold. You can try the fries by themselves, but we highly encourage you to pair the fries with the tartar sauce served along the side, as the sauce adds a slight sourish tinge which provides a nice contrast. For $11++, it is pretty great for sharing although we feel the amount of fries is rather little for the amount paid.
We are at French Fold for brunch on a Sunday as we wanted to try their galettes, which are pancakes made from Buckwheat flour and usually contain a savoury filling. The galettes at French Fold are numbered and we decided to order galette number 9, which is filled with Reblochon cheese, baby potatoes, pancetta and wine-pickled onions! Along the sides, there is a pretty generous serving of Bayonne ham.
We thought the galette was great as the Reblochon cheese made for a wonderful filling, as it wasn't overly cheesy. Furthermore, the galette contains chunks of pancetta, which are somewhat similar to bacon and it ensured that the cheesy filling of the galette didn't become too mundane. However, the serving of cheese was pretty generous and this made the galette more filling than we initially expected. Coupled with the Bayonne ham, which is a little salty, we think this dish is more suited for brunch and it may be a little too heavy to have this early in the morning.
The galette is priced at $19++, which may seem a little expensive but you are definitely paying for quality ingredients (especially the Reblochon cheese). French Fold was pretty crowded on a Sunday morning and the restaurant has a 90-minute dine-in time limit, so that is something you may want to be mindful of.
Enjoyed these savoury crepes, good quality, awesome service and a nice comfortable setting βΊοΈ

This is the dish that everyone has to order! Who knew that all these nuts and ingredients would go so well together! I would recommend eating everything in one mouthful to have the full experienceπ The duck was slightly dry, but it was made up for with the juicy orange. The bowl was crispier than the galette, but it was a great addition to the meal as it gave an extra crunchy bite. I would definitely order this again!π₯°

This was actually a perfect breakfast order. It was quite a light dish, with only mushrooms and a sunny side up inside. At first, I was slightly disappointed that it was too plain with no sauce inside either. But I realised it was actually better with no sauce since the egg yolk would flow out and mix with everything. Mushrooms were on point; bite-sized and slightly smokyππ» The galette itself was crispy but softer on the inside, actually really tastes like an egg prataπ€£ I wish they had added more cheese though.
