Freshio Gelato

Saw this gelato place @freshiogelato with very high reviews and had to check it out!

You get to try out your ice cream flavours before ordering, and the owners do not hesitate to give you a pretty sizable portion to taste. I tried quite a few of their flavours and the hardest part is to choose among them!

I settled with Strawberry Cheesecake ($4.70) with their chocolate lava cake ($4.90) and had a separate passionfruit gelato ($4.70) in a cup. The strawberry cheesecake had such a good milk richness, with a slight cheese flavour that does not get cloying. The chocolate lava cake was gooey and extremely rich and chocolatey. Pairing these 2 together, you get a wonderful combination!

The passionfruit flavour had a strong tartness and was refreshing. The passionfruit taste was aromatic and wasn't artificial!

Absolutely loved the many gelato flavours in the shop. This may be one of the best gelato shops I know!

Didn't expected that I just explored it out via bus 131 from pek kio (Owen Road) towards rochor mrt lol 👀. Aunt really got that patience to handle my fussy and undecided mindset 😳 I got a bit of mafan and indecisive on choosing ice cream flavour tbh. So she let me to try it out different flavour for ice cream as she did recommended for and of course best selling flavour (eh I forgot it which it is lol) I aim for chocolate flavour and also another flavour that I didn't know which flavour to choose from but in the end I got new flavour (wild berry) to recommend from aunt. Belgium Chocolate ($4.70 per scoop) got a bit bitter aftertaste with hard chocolate shaving inside but wild berry just creamy, milky and a hints of berry taste for me tbh sorry aunty I'm not really berry person. But their service is 💯 and also w/o gst and service charge. 11

Kinda disappointed that I found it okay only, given the 5 star google reviews. They allow for tasting before ordering - the uncle gave us a spoon of croissant (wasn’t v croissant-ish, I was not sure what I tasted) and pancake (maple syrup was the distinct taste) to try, felt that these had a bit of a floury taste?? The pistachio which I opted to try was alright, could be more nutty. The rum and raisin was the nicest out of all, there was a nice rummy sweetness to it.

I wasn’t inclined to make a return trip, but I want to give it another try, maybe other flavours are better?

This is the best croffle with bourbon dark choc and pistachio gelatos! Gelatos are creamy, rich, smooth & yummylicious! I wished I had requested for the croffle to be separately served from the gelatos! It will remain crispy all the way!

Store owners are a retiree couple who are super friendly. U get to try as many flavours as u want. Bourbon dark choc gelato ($5.50/scoop) & Sicilian pistachio ($4.70/scoop) are super creamy and are their most popular flavours. Waffles ($4.90) are on the denser / cakey side.

One hidden gelato shop at Sunshine Plaza, facing Prinsep Street side. Spacious with a few tables here.

The uncle auntie here very friendly and they served some pretty decent gelato flavours. Alphonso Mango tasted creamy and refreshing.

Do help yourself with some tap water as well.
