The refreshed Gake's menu will take diners on a surprise journey. Other than stating your dietary restrictions, you'll be kept in suspense about what's in the menu.

But common to every omakase would be this first dish, consisting of a Smoked Quail Egg with Avruga Caviar, or Smoked “ajitsuke uzura”; and Millefeuille Potato with Truffle Rugout. The truffle rugout surprised me, it's not the prettiest paste around but it's was very flavourful, made from a mix of Japanese forest mushrooms, shallots and white truffle oil, before being stewed for 2 hours to get the hearty flavors of the precious mushrooms.

They only had a few items for the Burpple Beyond deal but I think the sets were pretty worth it nevertheless. I got the truffle wagyu don ($40++) and my friends got the unagi Don ($18++). Though there was a strong truffle flavour for the Don, I still felt like the beef wasn’t that amazing. I’ve had the same kind of beef for cheaper price points. The unagi was pretty generous though, which I thought was worthwhile at a $9 price point after Burpple Beyond. So if I were you, I’d skip the beef and go straight for the unagi! It’s pretty damn good.

Ambience was amazing and definitely a great place to chill with loved ones or friends. Food might be alittle pricey but it was quite a pleasant experience. Would love for them to put alittle more attention to the plating of this dish though. Creamy texture with uni served on soft somen enhanced by the crunchy ebi and cavier.

Had the A4 Kageshima Wagyu Donburi (S$40++) as well, which was even more delightful. The truffled flavored rich and the tender beef mashes well with a soft boiled egg. Lastly the vegetable gives it the crunch needed to complete the dish.

Overall definitely worth visiting since it's on burpple! Cheers!

A surprise from my friend, who requested it when he made the reservation. Utterly soft and spongey, there was a hint of citrus with every bite and I enjoyed this a little too much. A beautiful end to a great meal 😋

Of all the dishes I’ve tried for the Omakase menu here, this is the one I least enjoyed. The rice felt a tad too dry for me and the accompanying vege came off as a little odd to me. Felt that the ingredients weren’t working well together but my friend thoroughly enjoyed it, so it could just be me 😅
