Was pretty excited to visit this pop up store. Had high expectations! Unfortunately best dish was this and the mao shan wang creme brûlée.

The slices of this pork Jowl was pretty thin as well. Wish it was thicker!

We ordered the crab rilettes, the garang rice, the red platter (lamb and beef was pretty tough) and a barrumundi.

Total damage: $360 (and we were not full) New Ubin’s much better in my opinion!

If you are in the mood for grilled meat and a fellow 'eastie' like me, Garang Grill is a perfect place to go. It prides itself in their delicious grill meats, cooked just lightly charred, preserving the meat quality while enhancing the flavor through smoked wood.

The BBQ pork collar was remarkably tender and flavorful. The fats on the collar were easy to indulge in without leaving an oily aftertaste in your mouth. A plate like this can be easily shared with 4-5 people while waiting for the main dish.

Served with Vietnamese pesto, compressed watermelon that was grilled in the @mibrasa creating sweet, smokey, juicy morsels, topped with sea grapes for the 'taste of the ocean' - the combination sounded a little hard to grasp at first but all is resolved when you put it into your mouth. The creamy burratina paired so well with the bright, slightly spicy pesto, slight acidity and sweetness from the tomatoes, and bursts of warm crunch and smokiness from the watermelon. You have got to try it to feel it. What a pleasure to savor this! Definitely going back for more soon. #garanggrill #burpple

This juicy and tender mackerel is so cooked under the heat, the bones are practically edible.


Red platter which consists of Prime Rib Eye, New Zealand Lamb Cutlets, BBQ St. Louis Pork Ribs, Garang Rice. White platter which consists of Lime Leaf Chicken, BBQ Tiger Prawns, Whole Norwegian Mackerel.

Check out @garanggrill's lime leaf chicken. Finished in the @mibrasa, the local boiler chickens are tender and juicy with a nice smokey char - definitely a crowd pleaser. Garang Grill's pop up has been extended for 3 months, so go get the grilled goodness while it last! #burpple #garanggrill
