The kway chap is as thin as tissue paper! Super smooth. No wonder most people ordered the big bowls, I’ll do that next time too. The 大肠 are very clean and cooked to perfection. Other ingredients are up to standard too. Worth my time queuing 👍🏻


Forgot how cheap hawker good can get 😌😌 Though it may not be the best kway chap around, it’s definitely a pretty good and decently hearty version! Shoutout to the chef who really conscientiously cuts the intestines and ingredients up, making this possibly the neatest kway chap I’ve ever eaten, but also explains the queue (15-20 min but pretty worth it I guess). Love the generous spread from small and large intestines, to the staple pork belly, taupok, taukwa, pig skin and braised egg! 🤤🤤 Hawker centre was also airy and well ventilated with many other good stalls, so was a really pleasant meal! 💯💯

Despite being tucked in an obscure corner, there is a constant queue at Garden Street Kway Chap. Kway chap is hard to be mindblowing kind of good, so I would say the version here is above average, nothing spectacular (though their salted veg is the best I’ve had, not too overpowering), just good old kway chap.

Ordered pig trotters, taupok, fried fish cake and braised egg with a big bowl of kway ($5.80). Everything was quite tasty, especially the fried fish cake, which was quite special and usually not served at other kway chap stalls. Queue was quite long as usual, waited for about 15 mins at 1.30pm. Overall a good dish and I would come back if I have a kway chap craving. However, the kway chap at Old Airport Road still remains my favorite.


As is the trend with many of the stalls featured in this guide, a perpetual crowd is often seen at this stall, which serves really tasty Kway Chap (avg $4) at very affordable prices, so join the queue! Tastemaker Nobelle Liew describes the kway to be silky-smooth and not so thick that it's unpleasant, yet not so thin that it tears easily. The large intestines were cleaned very well, and soaked up all the flavours of the wonderful braising liquid. Tastemaker Wei Zhi Chiang loves the broth, which was robust and herbal, without the strong smell of innards. While Tastemaker Wei Zhi felt the lean pork slices could be more thoroughly braised, Tastemaker Nobelle loved them, and described them to be tender and moist. We'll leave the verdict to you!

Queued the longest for this that day, but yey it was really worth it. The silky thin sheets of kway were not overly herbal in taste, and those innards were yumz. The only letdown was the dry pork slices, but I would gladly queue again for those clean and delicious innards.
