😁 Munching mania pappadom @ Gayathri Restaurant 😺
*****
Don't be intimidated by the formal look of this Indian restaurant on Race course road. After we got the seat, the waitress brought us a tablet menu (cannot order through the tablet though, but quite impressed how efficient they come when we press the 'call' button.πŸ˜ƒπŸ›Ž
.
Fish Briyani $9.90 comes with a chunky piece of mackerel nicely coated with spicy gravy (pity that we gotta check fish bones before eating) but otherwise both briyani rice & the fish are very flavourful.
.
Mutton Dum Briyani $10.90 tastes nice enough but what is so addictive is their pappadom $1.50 that comes with 3 types of sauce (yoghurt with sliced vegetables & mint sauces) are hands down. We finish 2 trays. Overall, a value eat for someone who enjoy briyani rice with rapid service when you click 'bill'!! 😎(7% GST)

Fridays call for some carbs-heavy, rich Indian food. This Chicken Bryani ($7) just the perfect fit. 2 papadum, 1 egg, 1 chicken thigh, a creamy scoop of yogurt and a mountain of basmati rice. The serving was so generous, I only managed to finish half the portion for lunch and was well on my way to a food coma 😡 Coming back for sure!

One of my favourite restaurants for Indian food is definitely Gayatri. The Chicken Masala ($6.50) and Aloo Gobi ($5.50) are the supporting cast while the fluffy basmati rice with fish curry ($8.50) takes the lead. Prepare for the food coma to come.

Good albeit pricey Indian food. Service was not that great perhaps because it was "peak" period.
