Stall name:
Tendon Ginza Itsuki
Impressions:
Popular place along Tanjong Pagar Road with a perpetual queue.
Lot's of ingredients on the tendon, including two chicken breasts, two prawns, two kinds of mushroom, one half-boiled egg, two stalks of long beans, and a slice of eggplant.
Tempura shell isn't shatteringly crispy as it was covered in a sticky sweet-savoury sauce, but the meat were well-fried, especially the chicken breasts which was nice and moist despite being thinly sliced.
Rice isn't exactly fluffy but this is less than $15 so something's got to give. Overall decent quality, good value for money and it fills you up.
Rating:
8 / 10
Verdict:
✅Will return✅
I guess it's okay
Meh
Not going back
Notes:
This restaurant practice open frying and the ventilation isn't top-notch, so be prepared to smell like a walking tempura after your meal.

📍 Ginza Tendon Itsuki, Tanjong Pagar
home to affordable tendons, i can safely say, it was definitely worth the 50 minute wait.
we ordered the seafood tendon bowl with spicy sauce (top up $1) and it comes with chawanmushi and miso soup too! ($17.90++, 2nd & 3rd pic) i was pleasantly surprised as the bowl included salmon, scallop and squid tempura! i thought it was extremely unique!
overall, the tempura held its crunch and didn’t get soggy despite me taking pics first (hahaha) each ingredient was extremely juicy and cooked to perfection (including the chicken breast which wasn’t dry at all!!!!) everything was so easy to eat and honestly sooo filling! the spicy sauce acted as a good kick at the start but got a lil too spicy for me towards the end so do take note for those with a lower spice tolerance!
very very happy with the dishes and the ambience (i felt like i was in japan again!) the main thing to note: do make sure to go early to queue! i queued from 6.20 pm til 7.10 pm and once we finished our dinner (about 8.10 pm) we came out and the queue was even longer! (their last order is 10pm)
despite the queue, i will 100% definitely be back!! 🤤

i was blown away by the quality received for the price. we ordered the special mix tendon with normal sauce ($14.90++, 1st & 4th pic)! each tendon bowl comes with chawanmushi and miso soup.

Special mix bowl consisted of assorted tempura veggies, 2 tempura prawns & 2 tempura chicken breasts w a half-boiled egg. We opted for a bowl with the special spicy tendon sauce (top up of $1) & one with the normal sauce. Portion size was generous as it also came w a chawamushi & miso soup. The tendons itself were really crispy & fresh & the half-boiled egg was cooked to perfection. Still our fav tendon place so far! 🤩👍🏼
Huge bowl of goodness with 2 chicken breast, 2 Ebi fry, tempura vegetables and the best part - oozing egg!
& the set comes with chawamushi and miso soup!
Took almost an hour to queue and enter.
🌟 7/10 - Portion size is worth it, but queue is long and tendon could be crispier though.
Pork loin, vegetable & half boiled egg. Although the number of tendons in this bowl were significantly less compared to the chicken and mushroom bowl, we really enjoyed the pork! It was super soft on the inside, & the batter was crispy on the outside, so it made it really easy to eat. The egg was also perfectly poached & we loved the stickiness of the rice. More vegetables would have been nice bc 2 sticks of long beans were not enough to cover the jelat-ness of the pork. But still, great dish! We were also really impressed by the service of the staff!
