As usual, as soon as he saw that Chirashi Don ($45) was on the menu, he had to order it. The dish comprises of premium sashimi on sushi rice. One of the most beautifully plated Chirashi dons IMO.

The freshness of the sashimi, acidic dressing and the crunchy toppings reignited a new liking for sashimi!

Formerly known as Sushi Kuu, Ginzawa now offers a revitalised menu with more reasonable prices. If you were familiar with Sushi Kuu, then the outstanding Premium Sashimi on Sushi Rice ($45) should be no stranger to you. Artfully plated, this elaborate bowl is a bountiful feast for the eyes and the belly — think 11 types of premium seafood such as otoro, kinmedai, shima aji, hirame, hotate, botan ebi, akami, and super fresh uni! This is full-on decadence. However, this decadence can only be experienced during lunch, as it's served in a set comprising chawanmushi, miso soup and ice cream (seal the deal with the additional salmon sashimi or California roll for $5 more). If you miraculously find yourself with a little more time and cash to spare at lunch time, you know where to go.

Ginzawa is having a 1-for-1 omakase dinner promotion this month for all citibank cardholders. The ingredients were really fresh but pretty much predictable, except perhaps for the amazing truffle chawanmushi with slivers of Uni. However we felt the prices are a little steep at $180 per person for the Omakase; more than worth it when the 1-for-1 is ongoing, but otherwise I might be hesitant to pay such hefty prices.

A nice combination of rice, seaweed, salmon skin and tobiko roe. But if you're here, go for their fresh sashimi or sushi with raw sashimi. Their sashimi is so fresh that it's a waste to eat cooked seafood 😝

Minced tuna topped with uni and caviar. It might be hard to put the whole thing in your mouth but the shiokness factor is the highest when you put the whole thing in and let it melt in your mouth. The ingredients are super fresh and sweet!
