Portions were quite generous; slabs of tender smoky meat with decent thickness. The meat wasnt dry either and retained some juciness. Priced at approx $9.

Probably the third or fourth time here, although it's been a while since my last visit. I don't recall seeing them offering unagi previously, so we gave it a try. The unagi was pretty good, and could compete with some of the common restaurant chains out there. The rice however was somewhat dry and not quite the quality one would expect from japanese bowls. Still decent for the price of $12.90 Rating 6.7/10

The place has renovated its interior and reduced it's menu items. The prices have also increased since a year ago, but I guess it's still reasonable given the portions and inflationary circumstances.

This smoked Duck Ramen really surprised me, my expectation was not very high coming here, but I was very very surprised how good this is.

The smoked Duck was flavourful. The Ramen was el dente.

Staff here very friendly and welcoming.

Ramen so good, I even da bao one back for the wife after I was done.

Third visit here and decided to try their rice bowls instead.

Boy, was I glad to do so. The meat slices were thick, juicy and tender. The vegetables added colours to the dish but did little else in terms of flavour. The rice portion was solid enough for someone with a larger than average appetite. This dish which was absolutely worth it and value for money.

Surprisingly, the soup that accompanied this dish was much tastier than the soup broth that came with the ramen which my partner ordered. 😅 The owner may wish to seriously consider using the former for the ramen as well.

Be warned: the place may get a little crowded during dinner time on the weekedays. Due to the current safe distancing measures, one may need to wait a while before getting a seat at these timings.

Returned here for the second time to try their other ramen dishes. The smoked duck ramen is alright and what you would expect; nothing to shout about. Prefer the sweet sake pork ramen which I had ordered previously.

Found this place while wandering around Kovan.

The broth light but still flavourful, the ramen had a good amount of springiness and the chashu had a hint of smokiness to it. All these packed into a bowl which costs less than $8.

While the shop does not stand in the same league with more famous establishments, this is value for money and you can get your ramen fix at this establishment if you are in the area. The shop is just 5 min walk way from Kovan station.

Oh and for those who prefer to pay with credit cards, you will be pleased to note that this place allows credit card payments as well !
